FloYo® founder, Jessie Benson, has always had a love of the beach and passion for being on the ocean. As a collegiate rower she was able to combine her sports background with her love of watersports. A few years after leaving the rowing world, Jessie discovered standup paddleboarding and instantly fell in love. Jessie first discovered SUP in the Gili Islands in 2010. When she stepped on a board for the first time she began to dream of ways to combine her passion for teaching group fitness classes with the blissful feeling of being on a board. In 2012 FloYo® was born and over the past 4 years the class has been refined to create the full mind/body experience that it is today. Jessie now leads FloYo teacher trainings, retreats and workshops around the globe. She is a SUP master trainer with the Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI) and also runs B'More SUP, a paddle board business based in Baltimore, MD with a mission to help clean up the Chesapeake Bay. When not on the water you can find Jessie teaching yoga and spin at the Under Armour World Headquarters or hiking with her Portuguese Waterdog, Rio!

WHAT’S YOUR MOTTO IN LIFE?
Dream big, follow your passion and love deeply! I love this quote by Nelson Mandela: “There is no passion to be found playing small — in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”
WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT?
Creating a life and a career where I can pursue what I am truly passionate about on a daily basis!
IN WHAT PLACE DO YOU FEEL MOST INSPIRED?
The beach! There is something about the sand and the salty air, it makes me slow down and become present. When I am present I am constantly inspired by all the little things in life- like the beauty of the sunrise and the sound of the ocean waves!
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST INDULGENCE?
Travel! I really value traveling and learning about other cultures. I can live without fancy clothes, a nice car and expensive spa treatments, but I could never live without travel! WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST IN LIFE? I value freedom- freedom to create the life I want to live. I know that anything is possible- as long as I put my mind to it.
