Designer, athlete, wife, mother and Mahiku®  co-founder, Ehiku Rademacher started surfing when she was just a toddler on the front of her mother’s board.  Native Hawaiian, Ehiku started canoe paddling at the age of 12, whilst surfing and body boarding the famous waves of the North Shore, sparking a lifelong passion for the sport and the ocean.

Ehiku was introduced to SUP in 2006 whilst living in Malibu with her husband actor/yolo elite rider Ingo Rademacher and their two children. She stared racing in 2011 whilst staying in “yolo” Country near Rosemary beach for 3 months.    SUP, a perfect combination of canoe paddling and surfing, allowed Ehiku to ditch the wetsuit in the cooler waters of Point Dume and get back into a bikini. Inspired by her new sport and lifestyle, Ehiku recognized a need for specialized activewear in the SUP community and MAHIKU activewear was born.

Ehiku and Ingo Enjoy life on the North shore of Oahu spreading  the YOLO stoke over the islands. “ Now that Peanut is 7 and Pohaku 3   I hope to compete in a lot more races in 2016 here in Hawaii and on the mainland”.

What’s your motto in life?
Work hard, love passionately, and be a good person! In what place do you feel most inspired?
I feel most inspired in the Pacific Ocean around Hawaii, it regenerates me and clears my slate so I have room to be creative and think and just be a better person. What or who is your greatest love?
That’s easy…my hubby Ingo.  He makes me a better person and is my best friend.  I now know the meaning of “my other half”, because that is what he is to me.What is your greatest indulgence?
I love going to the spa, especially the spa on the Big Island of Hawaii at the Four Seasons Hualalai, by far my favorite place!!  I have only been there twice but I swear I have dreams of that place! What do you enjoy most about stand up paddleboarding?
I love that anyone can do it.  This sport is allowing people who have never done a watersport or outdoor activity to experience nature.  I believe the more we are involved in nature, the more we are willing to preserve and protect it.

What do you value most in life?
My time with my two boys and my husband Ingo, when we are together as a family, the moments are so precious.
