Born and raised in Hawaii, Ehiku currently resides on the North Shore of Oahu, which is known by many as the surfing capital of the world.  An avid water lover, Ehiku has been a prone paddelboarder and an outrigger paddler from the age of 12.  She first became involved with SUP in Malibu, California in 2006, while SUP surfing a spot called Point Dume.

SUP racing since 2007, Ehiku most recently placed 2nd in the 12’6 division of the Xcel Race Against Skin Cancer in Waikiki.

Her love of the water has led her into her current career in the watersports apparel industry.  Along with her partner Mahea, Ehiku developed Mahiku Activewear, which produces fashionable garments for the active waterwoman.

What’s your motto in life?
Work hard, love passionately, and be a good person!

In what place do you feel most inspired?
I feel most inspired in the Pacific Ocean around Hawaii, it regenerates me and clears my slate so I have room to be creative and think and just be a better person.

What or who is your greatest love?
That’s easy…my hubby Ingo.  He makes me a better person and is my best friend.  I now know the meaning of “my other half”, because that is what he is to me.

What is your greatest indulgence?
I love going to the spa, especially the spa on the Big Island of Hawaii at the Four Seasons Hualalai, by far my favorite place!!  I have only been there twice but I swear I have dreams of that place!

What do you enjoy most about stand up paddleboarding?
I love that anyone can do it.  This sport is allowing people who have never done a watersport or outdoor activity to experience nature.  I believe the more we are involved in nature, the more we are willing to preserve and protect it.

What do you value most in life?
My time with my two boys and my husband Ingo, when we are together as a family, the moments are so precious.
